From Atlanta through Florida some amazing things took place.
ATL was my friend Mo who I hadn't seen for five years then onto Tallahassee to my friend Sophie who I hadn't seen in 15 years, then amidst more rain and thunder and tornado warnings I headed south towards St Petersburg. I wanted to see the Dali Museum. I got there and there was an exhibit of Eduardo Chillida, the amazing sculptor whose work I was introduced to by one of my dearest friends from Guatemala who married a man from the Basque Country, and her husband in the Basque Country in showed us the original sculptures on the waters edge.

I love the nature of connectivity of the way that all things form these intersecting, overlapping, intertwining movement of availability, of closeness, of realness, that when listened to can be touched and rode constantly.
It's not the distance, the space between places, it truly is what happens along the way and how in each moment there is a blessed reminder to listen, to be present to be patient, to be, in that moment, with whoever you are with, or whatever you are experiencing, or what you are feeling and just be. Just be there in that moment.
I didn't have a place to stay in St. Petersburg so in the last minute after it still being stormy I went to my airbnb app and focused in on where I was to find a place very nearby. I instant booked and fifteen minutes later I was there. The hosts were so gracious and told me about cool places to check out, the beaches that they knew of that were secret and places downtown.
I went to sleep that night and woke up a bit more refreshed to start exploring.
I didn't know it but there was another guest that had stayed in another room. He had actually been there for a couple of weeks he was at a conference and he was finished now and supposed to be flying out. His flight had been cancelled and he had a free day.

We decided to explore together and became friends, learning about each others lives, picking up shells and figuring out how to get to this secret beach, swimming and playing frisbee. An excellent day, that lingered into night street photography and listening to live music that we heard while riding with the windows down.
So now it was connecting with people, 5 years, 15 years, 1 day...
I drove on, to meet in Palm Bay Florida my PIC (partner in crime) as the fellow students at University of Legon in Ghana used to refer to us. We played basketball together my junior year of college and were always hanging out. She now married and living in the United States with two young ballers of her own. I had to stop and get them a basketball on the way to the house!!!
So whether it be one day, 5 years, 10 or 15 ... It's just important to take time, to make time, now is the time. Enjoy the moment and bask in the light of the connectivity, always existing.
