Pulling into Atlanta from Mississippi was a bit of a shock to come from country to the city. All the cars, I don't think I had seen that many since somewhere back in Los Angeles! It was worth it as I sat in traffic I thought of seeing my good friend Moses. Moses is a friend that I had met 10 years ago in Ghana and I have not seen him for about the past 5 years, though he lives now in the United States, Atlanta is not somewhere I get to often in my travels and so I knew that as I was crossing this country I wanted to be sure that I could see some of the special people in my life that only space holds us apart.

It was a great few days of seeing the city and exploring some new places. Mo and I visited the local nature center that cares for injured animals and some that can no longer go back to the wild so we saw Bald Eagles, Owls, Beavers, Snakes, Opossum, we walked the river bank and had a chance to explore some trails which I never knew excited to close to the city.

We no sooner got back in the car and headed onto the road when the sky began to open up, huge drops of water. We went to a local store and got ingredients to cook together that afternoon, for a great Ghanain Spinach stew with Fried Plantains that we ate that night for dinner. And had the opportunity to share with his roommate and new neighbor. A calm way to end a full weekend in ATL especially as the rain continued to fall.
